“Johna has done an exceptional job leading our organization,” EMSA Board Chair Wiley Williams said. “Despite facing challenging conditions related to the pandemic and national workforce shortages, she has responded with innovative ideas and determination. Under her direction, Oklahomans who rely on our services have seen noticeable improvements.”

Easley has managed workforce challenges in many ways, notably greenlighting an in-house training program – known as EMSA Advantage – that provides paid training for EMTs and has resulted in nearly 100 EMTs joining EMSA in Oklahoma City and Tulsa since its inception in April 2022. Priority1 Response Time Compliance has also improved under her watch – improving from a low of 45% in January 2022 to 84% in February 2023 in Oklahoma City.

Easley thanked the Board of Trustees for their confidence and said she, along with her Senior Leadership Team, remain committed to ensuring EMSA serves the pre-hospital needs of Oklahomans for decades.

“EMSA’s mission has never been more important. Amid record high call volume, we will continue to be an innovative, team focused, patient centered organization that is fiscally responsible and highly accountable, “she said.

Easley joined the EMSA system in 2009. She has served as EMSA’s Chief Administrative and Chief Compliance Officer, leading a variety of the organization’s administrative services including Occupational Health & Risk Management, Human Resources, and Grant Management. She has an extensive background in public health and healthcare system integration and has been responsible for leading the implementation of large organizational projects, and process improvement initiatives, while working diligently to ensure that EMSA follows established best practices in healthcare compliance.

She holds a bachelor’s degree with a focus on psychology and communications and an MBA. Easley has also received a certification in Healthcare Compliance and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
