How is H1N1 Different from Seasonal Flu?

While this new virus is very similar to the traditional seasonal flu, one of the defining aspect of H1N1 flu virus appears to be its effects on younger people.

In data collected by the CDC over the past several months, H1N1 has caused more severe reactions in people under the age of 25. There have been few cases of H1N1 infection in people over 65. The number of hospitalizations and deaths for children is increased over last year with 44 children who have died as a result of H1N1 complications through early September.
