Safety in an Emergency
- If you have car trouble, indicate that condition to other drivers by raising your hood, turning your flashers on - or if the battery is dead, tying a white cloth to your radio antenna.
- If you have a cell phone, call your auto club or mechanic for assistance.
- If someone stops to help, lock your doors and open the window slightly so you can ask him to call for assistance.
- If you must abandon your vehicle, keep all passengers together, and take all packages with you. Lock all openings (hatchbacks and t-tops) including the doors.
